Dave is the founder and managing principal of BrandEquity Consulting, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has spent more than 30 years as a branding professional working for start-ups, Fortune 500 firms and non-profit organizations.
Dave’s branding experience started in business school when he co-founded with his roommate Re-Con Systems, which went public eight months after graduation.
He started his traditional business career working for J. Walter Thompson Advertising in its New York office. His career also includes stints at Dancer, Fitzgerald & Sample and the San Francisco office of Saatchi & Saatchi, where he was a director and senior vice president responsible for the Hewlett-Packard account.
He has gained hands-on experience with more than two dozen brands of some of the nation’s largest consumer package-goods companies. His experience includes new product introductions, brand building and brand restaging for:

In 2002, Dave was honored as the "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Dave is a graduate of Stanford University and has an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce. He has authored a number of marketing articles and written two books on branding: Branding: The 6 Easy Steps and Inventing Big Ideas.
